Knit Look -- Ribbed Crochet Hat Pattern

Excuse my sleeping husband. I woke him to get him to model this hat for me. He was more than willing (Though I wonder if he even remembers modeling it, now?? LOL). This is my knit look -- Ribbed Crochet Hat Pattern. And I used self striping yarn! Well, it didn't really make "stripes", but it does sort of have a purple zebra/tiger look. I used Bernat Purple Self-Striping Yarn. Here is my pattern for this hat:

Bernat Self-Striping Yarn (Or any worsted weight yarn)

K hook

Row 1: Form a ring, Double Crochet 15 stitches in the ring. Slip stitch the first and last stitch together.

Row 2: Chain 2. FPDC in the same stitch as you chained 2 in. Then FPDC in each stitch around.

Row 3: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you chained 2 in. Then, Double Crochet in between the FPDC you just took and the next FPDC. Then * FPDC in next FPDC. Then, DC in between the FPDC you just took and the next FPDC * around. Slip stitch together.

Row 4: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you just chained 2 in. FPDC in each FPDC around. Slip Stitch together.

Row 5: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you just chained 2 in. FPDC in next FPDC. DC in between the FPDC you just took and the next FPDC. * FPDC in next 2 FPDC. Then, DC in between the FPDC you just took and the next FPDC * around. Slip stitch together.

Row 6-7: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you just chained 2 in. FPDC in each FPDC around. Slip Stitch together.

Row 8: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you just chained 2 in. FPDC in next 2 FPDC. DC in between the FPDC you just took and the next FPDC. * FPDC in next 3 FPDC. Then, DC in between the FPDC you just took and the next FPDC * around. Slip stitch together.

Row 9-11: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you just chained 2 in. FPDC in each FPDC around. Slip Stitch together.

Row 12: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you just chained 2 in. FPDC in next 3 FPDC. DC in between the FPDC you just took and the next FPDC. * FPDC in next 4 FPDC. Then, DC in between the FPDC you just took and the next FPDC * around. Slip stitch together.

Row 13 +: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you just chained 2 in. FPDC in each FPDC around. Slip Stitch together. Continue making rows like this until Hat is 1 1/2 inches shorter than you want your finished hat to be.

Ribbing Rows 1-3: Chain 2. FPDC in same stitch as you just chained 2 in. Alternate BPDC FPDC around. Slip-Stitch together. Finish off.

Simple Double-Crochet Tie Back Headband

K hook

Worsted Weight Yarn

Crochet a chain to the length of the head from right below one ear to the other. * Chain 2 and turn. Double Crochet in each chain across. * Continue working from * until headband is as wide as you like. Then single crochet around entire headband and finish off. Weave in the ends.

To create tie backs, cut two pieces of yarn at 6 1/2 Yards each. Fold one piece of yarn in half and feed loop through the middle of one edge of your headband. Bring the ends through the loop and tighten. Chain using both strands of yarn for 70 chains. Slip Stitch through third Chain from hook and finish off. Weave in the end. Repeat on other side of headband with other piece of yarn.
